Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure?

I have to go to one of two Disney theme parks. Where can I go. I am not a extremes thriller fan like loops and stuff. But I do not like fast roller coasters without loops and things backwards. The rest is fine with me. All recommendations and why. Is it one of the Disney characters walking around the adventures of California? 'cuz i did not see any last time. Do not say "two"

Unfortunately, rides that are there to assist California Screamin ', a mountain with loops, Soarin' Over California, and Toy Story Midway Mania. There is little characters or no walk to Disney California Adventure, so if you want to see the characters go to Disneyland.
